Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 applies to flights from the EU countries with the airline registered in the EU, flights from EU countries with the airline, which is not registered in the EU or from countries outside the EU with EU airline.
You are entitled to compensation in the following cases:
- The flight is delayed for more than 3 hours.
- The airline did not inform you about the flight cancellation more than 14 days before your scheduled departure.
- Re-routing. The flight is considered as re-routed when you get to your destination with a different flight number or with another airline resulting in delayed arrival to your destination.
- Denied boarding because the number of seats on the aircraft is smaller than the number of passengers (airline has sold more tickets the flight is overbooked or the aircraft has been exchanged for a smaller one), due to missed connecting flight or other operational reasons the airline is liable for.
- If downgraded on a flight as a result of the lack of seats on board.
- In the case of loss, damage or delay of the luggage by the air carrier.
- € 250 – 3-hour delay; for all flights of less than 1,500 km
- € 400 – delay of 3 and more hours, for flights within the EU of more than 1,500 km and for flights between1,500 km and 3, 500 km outside the EU
- € 300 – 3 to 4-hour delay; for all flights of more than 3,500 km
- € 600 – delay of 4 and more hours; for all flights of more than 3,500 km outside the EU
- € 250 – 3-hour delay; for all flights of 1,500 km or less
- € 400 – the delay of 3 or more hours; for all flights between member states of the EU of more than 1,500 km and for all flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km
- € 300 – 3 to 4-hour delay; for flights of more than 3,500 km
- € 600– the delay of 4 or more hours; for flights of more than 3,500 km outside of the EU
- € 250 – for all flights of less than 1,500 kmm
- € 400 – for flights within the EU of more than 1,500 km and for flights between1,500 km and 3, 500 km outside the EU
- € 600– for all flights of more than 3,500 km outside the EU
- € 250 – for all flights of less than 1,500 km
- € 400 – for flights within the EU of more than 1,500 km and for flights between 1,500 km and 3, 500 km outside the EU
- € 300– for flights of more than 3,500 km and in the case of 3 to 4-hour delay
- € 600 – for all flights of more than 3,500 km outside the EU
- 30 % of the flight ticket – for all flights of less than 1,500 km
- 50 % of the flight ticket – for flights within the EU of more than 1,500 km and for flights between 1,500 km and 3, 500 km outside the EU
- 75 % of the flight ticket – for all flights of more than 3,500 km except the flights outside the EU
In the case of loss, damage or delay of the luggage by the airline you might be entitled to compensation of approximately € 1,220. You must file a complaint within 7 days (in the case of a delay of up to 21 days) from the delivery of the luggage.
You can apply for compensation at any flight (including charter) departing from the EU airport or arriving at the EU airport from an airport outside the EU if the flight is operated by an airline registered in the EU.
The distance is calculated from the airport where the airline caused you complications, but this does not have to be the airport where you started your journey.
There is no fee for getting the compensation. Remuneration will be deducted only from the resulting amount.

You are entitled to compensation for approximately 24 calendar months from the date of the flight, depending on the country where the event occurred.
The cases are usually processed within 45 days, but if this is a more complicated case, this time can also be extended. We will keep you informed about the case handling process.
If your cancellation was due to exceptional circumstances that could not be avoided, for example, a very unfavorable weather, or the company informed you of the flight cancellation 14 days before the scheduled time of departure, or you have been offered a substitute flight with a similar time schedule as the original flight.
